About Wanamaker ChiropracticBeyond The Subluxation A great challenge that I face as a chiropractor is not merely to spend my life removing subluxations, but rather to help patients remove the causes of their subluxations. The original meaning of the word doctor was one who possessed the qualifications to teach. Every chiropractor has a responsibility to teach. Of course, not every patient will accept the teaching. And obviously, some cases present more opportunities to impart knowledge than do other cases. Kahil Gibran in his book The Prophet wrote of the teacher: “If he is indeed wise he does not bid you to enter the house of his wisdom, but rather leads you to the threshold of your own mind.”
Subluxations are caused by: 1. Physical Forces 2. Chemical Forces (ingested--inhaled--skin contact) 3. Emotional Forces (conscious or unconscious)
The supreme health care concept that all individuals should understand is this: “The conscious and unconscious mind cannot be disturbed without dire physical consequences. If the emotions are continually in shambles, there will eventually be serious physiological consequences.” Everyone is aware that “stress kills”, but they don’t know why or how. A most trying task for me as a chiropractor is to attempt to asjust the spine of a genuinely emotionally distraught individual. The subluxations return again and again! The nervous energy that accompanies conscious and unconscious emotional conflicts contracts both smooth (organ) and striated (skeletal) muscle, not only initiating physiological dysfunction, but perpetuating it through the resultant SUBLUXATIONS.
WE HAVE A RESPONSIBILITY TO BE WELLLiving is an art, and it is immoral to make others responsible for our health. Each individual must take the responsibility for his/her physical, emotional and spiritual well being. The unhealthy or destined-to-be unhealthy person has often forfeited all decision making to others..
IT IS JUST AS ESSENTIAL TO HAVE ONE’S LIFE ADJUSTED AS IT IS TO HAVE ONE’S SPINE ADJUSTED. AS A CHIROPRACTOR, I CAN DIAGNOSE AND RENDER CARE, BUT EACH PATIENT MUST SAY: “I am going to get myself well and I am going to keep myself well.” About Dr. Gary C. Wanamaker, D.C.
